This 1890's
farm estate was originally part of the Wade Family Orchards and
is a local gem. The farm still offers the
original house with wrap around porch, 40' Aer-moter
windmill and post-and-beam barn. Enjoy
the beauty of the farm, including chickens and ducks
roaming free; and pumpkins growing.
The
restored barn houses the working studio of resident artist Dawn
Soltysiak and a unique contemporary fine art and craft
gallery. She draws a lot of her creative energy from the
natural beauty around her, which is reflected in the organic
influences in her art work. The
studio offers pottery classes and workshops
taught by Dawn or featured visiting artists.
The farm
also features the photography studio of Rob Soltysiak.
Portraits, tin-types, landscapes and artwork slide
submission for Zapplication available.
Free-range farm fresh eggs are for sale at the studio and
other home-grown farm goods are available in season.
Fernwood Farm offers farm & pottery studio
tours.
Located between Saugatuck and South Haven, MI near the
Lake Michigan shoreline, Fernwood Farm is dedicated to
educating the public about preserving American Small Farms and sustainable farming.
